Foundations of the Faith - His Heart (Pt.2)

When Jesus uses the word lowly to describe his own heart, he doesn’t mean that he is low in status or position. He means that he can relate to those who are poor in spirit in a deep way. He means that he hears people and listens to their needs. Despite the fact that he is Lord of Lords and King of Kings, he is humble and accessible. The deepest desire of his heart is to reach people, and he is best at reaching those whom society deems “untouchable.” He is in a constant state of communicating with the Father in order to meet the needs of the people around him. He allows the Father to show him what needs to be done and performs it in order to bless all people (John 5:20).
