There are so many Old Testament images of Jesus. These images not only show who Jesus is, but what he did and why he did it. In Genesis 3:15, God tells the snake who tempted Adam and Eve that he will be killed by the seed of Eve. This one statement by the Lord sets us up many years later for Jesus. On the cross, Jesus gave up his life for you and for me. But he also dealt a fatal blow to the forces of darkness! Amen! He condemned them all and took away the power they have over us. In dying, he also destroyed the power of sin and death over our lives. In believing on him, we enter into the victory!
